Champion Notes: Network Activation Request

“The art of conversation lies in listening.”
--Malcom Forbes

I've been AWOL for more than a month. Some of it is not justified. But, a large part of it has been because I didn't want to post again until I had actually achieved something that modeled what I hope the Inland Northwest Champions Network will be.

Today, I think I achieved that goal.

I started this list started based on the work of two influential mentors: Matt Silverman, the author of The Champions Network, and Dave Ribble, the author of The Way of the Conscientious Connector.

From Matt, I learned that ideas don't just "go viral." For an idea to go from the Early Adopter to the Early Majority stages, there has to be real lived experience. As human beings we trust in things that others have demonstrated and believed.

From Dave, I have learned that the most important step we can take to have an impact on our communities is to listen for what they want and need. Then, to activate our network of people and resources to help them achieve it.

A month ago, I approached Dave with a proposal.

He has a personal improvement coaching business that he wanted to develop into something bigger. To accomplish that, he wanted to launch it close to home where he could have direct contact with his ideal clients. And local meant, Spokane, WA.

I approached Dave at an in-person networking event with this:

  1. We reserve a space at one of our local libraries (The Hive)
  2. We build a Interactive eBook experience that goes deeper than just a sales page to engage those who want to really improve their communication skills.
  3. We use that opportunity to build a list of 16 participants (and hopefully more) that will come to a live event to experience Dave and his coaching in person.

I'm pleased to say that we have accomplished this goal.

Here is our details:

Here is where the Inland Northwest Champions can help. I've targeted this event as an opportunity to get the brand out as a co-sponsor and demonstrate one of the ways that a champion network can help organization break down information silos.

That's where you come in.

My ask is this. If you have resources or influence in the Spokane/Coeur d' Alene geographic area, Dave and I would appreciate you championing this event to your own network.

This can be in the form of sharing the link above with people or organizations that you think would benefit from Dave's experience.

I will be posting a lot of graphics and messages daily on Social Media platforms: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram. If you see one, giving it a like or reposting to your own wall would help us expand the reach.

Finally, if you are into content generation, I've created over 25 images that can be used on the above mentioned social media platforms. You could post your own messages and include the image as part of that post to help us spread the word.

If content generation is your thing, please respond to this email to schedule time on my calendar so I can share with you the Social Media Kit that I've prepared.

On a personal note. This has been a very energizing time for me. Improving communication, I think, is so vital to making a difference in our communities. I'm pleased to have developed a working relationship with Dave Ribble and StandOut Mastery to help everyone in the Inland Northwest.

I hope this is just the first of many such projects that will come out of Inland Northwest Champions Network to help worthy causes.

Respectfully,

Rob Ruder
